Cheerio
This game is the precursor of the commercial game, Yahtzee. It can be played by any number of players up to a maximum of 12. The greater the number of players, the slower the pace of the game.
Equipment
1) five dice;
2) a dice cup;
3) a sheet of paper, showing the various combinations and a scoring column for
each player.
Objective
Each player tries to score the maximum possible for each of the 11 scoring combinations
(see below). The player with the highest total score wins the game.
Games are often played as a series, the player who wins the most games in the series being the overall winner.
Alternatively, the scores in each game can be carried forward to the next game, until a player has reached a previously agreed cumulative total. If two or more players exceed the total, the player with the highest score wins. Ties are settled by an extra game.
